This project was number 7 of 9 designs which was put into creation. The idea behind this dress consists of the phases of an elevated ‘night out’. This piece was the 7th phase of what a night out consist of which is why it is called the ‘Hangover Dress’ representing the day after.

Using 4 pairs of womens tights I disassembled the pieces and draped them on a mannequin to create the desired silhouette. With the remaining material I decided to create arm warmers to include to the outfit. The pieces were then sewn together and then overlocked on the outside, giving the dress a ‘rugged’ vibe. How one feels the next day.

Once the dress was created, using coffee grounds, it was tie dyed. Each piece remained in the dye for different durations of time to create some deep features and some lighter.

Coffee is a must the next day after a night out hence why it was used to dye the material.
